TEAM MW CLAIMS VICTORY IN TRIESTE AT THE BARCOLANA

After 1,560 nautical miles of non-stop sailing from Genoa to Trieste, the German team wins the offshore race. Team Caracole RORC and Team Red Dragon complete the podium.

Trieste, 8 October 2026 – Team MW of Germany has won the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Veloce 2026, the offshore sailing challenge that brought ten crews from Genoa to Trieste, finishing in conjunction with the 58th edition of the Barcolana.

After approximately 1,560 nautical miles of non-stop racing, crossing the Tyrrhenian, Ionian and Adriatic Seas, Team MW was the first to cross the finish line in Trieste. The race tested the crews’ technical skills, endurance and tactical decision-making throughout a demanding passage. France’s Team Caracole RORC secured second place, followed by the United Kingdom’s Team Red Dragon in third.

Sailing aboard the high-performance Figaro Bénéteau 3 boats, the crews took on one of the Mediterranean’s longest and most challenging offshore races. Starting from Genoa on 25 September, the fleet navigated a course featuring the Pisa, Amalfi and Venice gates, extending south to Isola delle Correnti at the southernmost tip of Sicily before turning north towards Trieste.

Finishing in the host city of the Barcolana brought the competition to an exciting conclusion, celebrating the combination of sporting excellence, technology, seamanship and teamwork. The finish also brought offshore sailing into the heart of one of the most internationally recognised and widely attended sailing events.

The Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Veloce once again confirms its place among the most spectacular events within the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour. Organised by Difesa Servizi S.p.A. in collaboration with the Italian Navy and SSI Sports & Events, the initiative promotes Italy’s maritime heritage through a competition connecting coastal communities, cultures and some of the most remarkable stretches of the Italian coastline.
