The penultimate leg is for Marina Militare

Portorose – Just over 24 hours to cover the 160 miles from San Benedetto del Tronto to Portorose, with intense winds in the early stages and then gradually decreasing: these are the main elements of the penultimate section of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour 2023, which in the last two days he was based in Portorose, Slovenia, for the only "foreign" stage of the 2023 edition of the Giro.

The first to cross the finish line, yesterday at 15.21.31, were the Marina Militare standard-bearers Simone Scontrino and Francesco Linares, seven minutes ahead of the crew of Città di Genova, second placed, and ten minutes ahead of Acone Associati with Marco Augelli and Nadir Balena.

The result of the San Benedetto-Portorose stage allowed the Navy Team to gain important points in the general ranking, where however the games remain governed by Acone Associati, solidly in control with 26 points after seven stages. With 28 points of delay, the crew of the Guardia di Finanza follows, while the temporary bronze, at the dawn of the grand finale in Venice, is for the Air Force.

While the Waszp and Wing Foil athletes obtained little satisfaction from the light breeze of Portorose, the same cannot be said for the sailors of the Hansa 303 class invited by the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour and who reached the Race Village yesterday to then compete in fun match races. The Hansa 303 is a boat designed to be sailed independently by disabled sailors and for years it has been the reference boat for the sailing Paralympics. For Paris 2024, however, despite its growing success, para-sailing has been excluded from the Paralympic disciplines: the presence of the Hansa 303s at the stage of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour is meant to be a call of attention to this important discipline, so that it can return as soon as possible to fascinate sailors, athletes and enthusiasts from all over the world in the next editions of the Paralympic Games.

After the two exciting days spent in Portorose, where the Race Village gave its best in terms of attendance, dynamism and fun between concerts, social events and DJ Sets, the entourage of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour 2023 began to make route to Venice, where the award ceremony will be held at 18.30 tomorrow, 29 July. The offshore fleet, which left the Slovenian moorings this morning at 10.00 for the last sprint of the "Giro 2023", will arrive in Venice in the late evening or in the night.

Also on the occasion of the San Benedetto-Portorose stage, the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour 2023 promoted the Discover Where You Porto project by ENIT, the National Tourism Company, divided into seventeen itineraries inspired by historical routes. The route of this stage, at the behest of the Organizing Committee, overlapped for some sections with the Rotta dei Dogi - about 110 miles from Mira to Trieste, passing through Chioggia and Venice.

The Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour 2023 is organized by Difesa Servizi S.p.A. and SSI Events with the support of the Navy.
