EFOEC, Team Chilli Pepper on the run for the First Leg victory

Montenegro - While abeam of Split, the fleet of the EUROSAF Female Offshore European Championship, an event belonging to the seasonal calendar of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour organized by Difesa Servizi S.p.A. and SSI Events with the support of the Marina Militare and EUROSAF, recognizes Team Chilli Pepper as a leader of substance.

In fact, right from the start, Ellie Driver and Catherine Hunt sailed in medium-light breezes at the top of the 10 Beneteau Figaro 3 fleet, moving first to the center of the Adriatic, halfway between Istria and Ancona, then, after a stop and go due to calm overnight, to the off Pescara, where they hooked the transition that allowed them to set off towards Budva with over 30 miles of advantage over a trio of chasers - Carta Giovani-Dipartimaneto delle politiche giovanili (Liberty Askew-Rosie Hill), Team Vamos ( Florencia Lazzari-Helena Schneider) and Team Quadriga (Melanie Aalburg-Viktoria Galla) - positioned near the Croatian coast, abeam of Šibenik.

With 130 miles still to go, a second night at sea awaits everyone. The pacesetters are expected at the finish line early tomorrow afternoon, although predictions on the exact arrival time are highly variable and linked to the real weather situation.

In addition to the SSi Events staff, led by CEO Riccardo Simoneschi and the Race Manager Luigi Bertini, Jenny Putlock of the Yacht Club Portomontenegro, local partner of the organization, are preparing the welcome.

We remind you that the EUROSAF Female Offshore European Championship is divided into two fractions: Venice-Montenegro (approximately 310 nautical miles) and Montenegro-Taranto (approximately 240 nautical miles), the departure of which is scheduled for the late morning of 29 September and arrival starting from the evening of the 30th. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Sunday 1 October in Taranto.
