Offshore Academy Nastro Rosa,
the art of offshore navigation

Sailing Series International, creator and organizer of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour and Veloce and other iconic events, has decided to make its know-how in offshore sailing and offshore competitions available to professionals and enthusiasts. This is the mission of the Offshore Academy Nastro Rosa, whose first course is scheduled between April 5 and 10 in Genoa.

Using the fleet of Beneteau Figaro 3, a hull designed for long solo voyages that has quickly become an international standard, students will be able to perfect their techniques and fill any gaps in specific topics. This initiative has immediately found the support of World Sailing, which will issue a certification valid to take part in Grade 1 and 2 regattas to those who will complete the program.

During the week, internationally renowned technicians will hold lessons on topics such as weather analysis and ruotage, the creation of media content on board, hull and sail repair techniques during navigation, management of on-board electronics, mental coaching, physical preparation and management of sponsorship relationships. All this will be interspersed with a series of outings at sea, also carried out under the watchful eye of highly specialized coaches.

To make up the technical panel, professionals such as SSi leader Riccardo Simoneschi; Guilllermo Altadil, already protagonist of ten round the world races; Riccardo Ravagnan, meteorologist of the Spanish Olympic National Team and weather strategist among the most appreciated; Michele Cannoni, boat captain of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team during the last America's Cup; Pietro D'Alì, the only Italian sailor with participations in the Olympics, the America's Cup and the Volvo Ocean Race; and Mauro Melandri, journalist specialized in the creation of multimedia content dedicated to the world of sailing.

"Waiting to find out what will be the competitive appointments of the 2022 license plate Nastro Rosa, we are proud to present this new declination within our activities - explains Riccardo Simoneschi - Sailing, in a fast, safe and aware way, is an art and the technicians we involved are ready to put their knowledge at the disposal of those who are fascinated or already have experience of the high seas. We hope to provide a training course that is unique and complete in its kind, so much so that it has earned the official recognition of World Sailing".
