Team FRANCE Wins the 7th Eurosaf Mixed Offshore European Championship in Genoa

Genoa, September 21, 2025

An exciting and eventful race, with the fleet of 10 teams—made up of sailors from 12 nations across three continents—still tightly packed after passing Gorgona, Capraia, and Giraglia. The strong breeze of the early days, with wind speeds nearing 30 knots, gradually gave way to light winds and eventually to near calm conditions approaching the finish line in Genoa.

While most of the fleet opted for a direct route toward the Lido di Albaro mark, Team FRANCE relied on weather forecasts indicating stronger pressure coming from the west. They chose a wider course to stay in the wind, gaining a significant advantage that allowed them to cross the finish line in Genoa several hours ahead of the second-place team, completing the roughly 230-nautical-mile course.

The battle for the remaining podium spots remained wide open, with a close duel between Team INDIA and Team GERMANY. In the final miles, characterized by extremely light air, it was the Indian team that managed the conditions better, securing second place and leaving Germany in third.

The awards ceremony took place at the regatta village located in front of the Galata Sea Museum in Genoa, with opening remarks from Dr. Maurizio Daccà, President of the Promoters of the Sea Museums.

This event marked the second annual appointment in the now well-established sailing season of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour, organized by the Italian Navy, Difesa Servizi SpA, and SSI Sport Events. This seventh edition of the *EUROSAF MIXED OFFSHORE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP* stood out for the high level of competitiveness among the international teams, which made the regatta truly captivating. The full race can be replayed thanks to TRAC-TRAC tracking, available at [www.nastrorosatour.it](http://www.nastrorosatour.it).

Collaborations with EUROSAF, the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV), and the partnership with RORC continue to generate successful events that not only promote the sport of sailing on an international level but also highlight the values and capabilities of Italy in supporting sport through its institutions. The Liguria Region and the City of Genoa were special guests of the event, once again confirming that sailing and the sea are part of their DNA.

A special thanks goes to the Yacht Club Italiano which, despite being engaged in other major initiatives, provided full support to the Yacht Club La Maddalena and to the entire organization.

With the European Championship concluded, attention now turns to the toughest and longest regatta in the Mediterranean: the *MARINA MILITARE VELOCE*, which this year will start from Genoa on November 2nd and finish in Venice, with a reversed course compared to previous editions. This change will make the 1,492-nautical-mile route even more challenging.

The 10 teams participating in this edition will be revealed on October 6th, and the event promises a world-class competition and a truly unprecedented offshore sailing adventure in our waters.
